Free Khloe, 2026
Installation

Free Khloe is a triptych of screenshots taken from the critically acclaimed television series Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which follows 5 young women as they experience a majority of their lives recorded and broadcasted to the world.

The work explores the tension between the pressure to perform
(the physical body as a subject of involuntary visibility) and the digital, recursive image of the selfie as a mediated presentation of the gaze. In this way, the selfie is a method for the subject to produce her own image, rather than a submissive subject of the camera gaze.

This project was a supporting work for culminative project exhibited at OCAD University’s Gradex.
